7 Random Things

I was tagged awhile ago and I've finally thought of seven random things about me, so here goes:

1. I have donated 22 inches of hair to Locks of Love. The first chop was November 2005 and the second was July 2007.

2. I still have a ceramic turtle that I made in kindergarten...it sits in my closet and collects buttons.

3. I love pajamas. I would wear them all day if I could...they are so comfy.

4. I have a recurring dream that I'm back in high school. It's really more of a nightmare...who would ever want to go back to high school? Anyway, the theme of the dreams usually is that I haven't gone to class at all and I'm wondering if it's too late to get passing grade to graduate.

5. Randy and I have bought two homes, but we haven't bought a car together yet.

6. I have a certain way I have to fold towels and it's different for the master bath than it is for the girls bathroom because of the storage space. I won't go into the different techniques, but I will say that Randy doesn't try to fold towels anymore.

7. When driving, I still keep an eye out for license plates that are from different states.

Okay, so I'm now supposed to tag seven people.

Megan
Stephanie F.
Amber
Carrie
Christy
Kristi
Brandi

I've noticed a lot of tags going on and I don't know who's done what, so you may have already been tagged with this, but if not have fun. You don't have to do this right away, but it might come in handy some day if you get writers block.

On a Stroll

The other day the girls were just needing to get outside so I said "Let's go for a walk." I'm standing at the door and here come the girls with their strollers and babies. That wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but thought "Okay, why not." So, I carried their strollers down all the stairs and let them push their babies. I do have to say that it was really cute.

Out of the Mouth of Babes

Today at church the girls were having one of their not-so-good days and were a bit restless. Keira, in squirming to get free of daddy's grasp, hits her head on the bench in front of us and really starts screaming. Little Kaleb Gottfredson who was sitting in front of us, (for those who don't know him he's a whole 1 1/2 months older than the girls), anyway, he turns around and says "Be Quiet!" You tell em' Kaleb!

On our way home

We stopped to get some sandwiches on our way home from the beach and when I looked back to check on the girls....
They were both out!

At the Beach

Last Friday, the 11th, we took the girls on their first overnight camping trip. We went to Carpenteria State Beach where several families from our ward were staying. They had a great time being outdoors and didn't do too bad sleeping in the tent...once they were asleep. Allyse was wiggly and giggly, but ended up falling asleep with her head right under Randy's chin. Keira was a little fussy and was my blanket until she was finally out and I was able to put her by my side. On Saturday they had fun helping deflate the Woodhouses air mattresses and
eating all of the marshmallows from Sister Rissers Lucky Charm's. Here's some pictures from their first beach experience.

Allyse loved the water.
Allyse taste testing a rock...yuck!
Our point and shoot camera wasn't working for me and Randy had the videocamera taking shots, but for some reason most of the pictures are of Allyse. I actually haven't seen the video yet, so hopefully he got them both when they first got to the shore.

I've been tagged...for real this time!

I think Kati knew I needed a little push at getting my blog up and going again. If only I had checked her blog sooner I would've found that she had tagged me. Hopefully you enjoyed learning a bit about my hubby though, and really tags have to start somewhere don't they? Now, here's a little about me.

1998--I was a recently returned missionary, working at the Sears telecenter and awaiting making the 15 minute move back to Provo with friends and starting summer semester at BYU…the one and only semester I went there.

5 things on my To-Do list today…
Mop the kitchen floor
Take library books back
Delegate Randy to make a spare front door key…I knew I would need one some day.
Write my dad a letter.
Plan weekly menu

(It's 9:30 p.m....I still can get it all done!)

5 snacks I love
chips and salsa
cashews/almonds
popcorn
dried apples
fruit and yogurt parfaits

5 foods I love
Bread
Cheese
fresh pineapple
potatoes
desserts…especially anything with chocolate

Suddenly a billionaire?
I would definitely get my dream house designed and built while I’m working on making the world a better place :)

Pay off all of our immediate families existing debts and have mission/college funds for all the kids.

I would love to see the world and experience life outside the U.S. While I’m traveling the world, I’d do humanitarian service along the way …help build schools, wells for water etc.

I’ve had a dream to have a beautiful place someday where brides could have their wedding receptions. A place other than the church’s windowless cultural hall where there are basketball hoops, stages, and usually accordion partition curtains to try to camouflage into the decor. A place with beautiful gardens to take pictures or if they want a reception outdoors. And since I’d be a billionaire I wouldn’t charge any rental fees.

Favorite quote?
"No matter what you are, be a good one." Abraham Lincoln

I'm going to tag a Utah buddy...Brand this one's for you, and in CA...Carrie you're up.

I wasn't able to hear much of conference, but the one talk I actually got to listen to...most of it anyway...was Elder Ballards. Wasn't it great?

Let's Hear it For the Boy

It's been awhile since I've updated my blog. It all started when our internet went out for over a week. By the time it was up and running again, I had to catch up on all the unread emails and everyone elses blogs. Then there's the fact that nothing spectacular has been going on. I don't know the rules on tagging, so just for something to write I'm tagging myself. Here's a little bit about my husband.

His name: Randall (Randy) A. Miller. The A. is just an initial, but it stands for Albrechtsen, which is his mother’s maiden name.

How old is he? Just turned 37.

How long did you date? Our first date was June 30th, 2001. He Proposed on September 1st, 2001—You can do the math.

How long have you been married? Six years.

Who asked who out first? Randy asked me.

What was your first date? We went to a BYU soccer game, visited Steven (his brother), Jill (Steven’s wife) and Emma (Steven and Jill’s daughter who was just two weeks old ), then we got milkshakes at I think it was called the Malt Shoppe—by Movies 8 in Provo.

Who kissed who first? He kissed me, but I was getting a little impatient.

The Proposal: High on a Mountain Top

Who proposed? Randy. He had me completely blown away. I was planning on a December proposal and an April or May wedding. What was he doing proposing in September?! Needing at least 3 months to plan, we were married in December and I practically froze to death! Looking back, I so could have had a 6 week engagement and got married on October 10. Oh well!

Who said "I love you" first? Randy, but I knew he was "the One" first.

Who’s taller? Randy, thank goodness.

Who is smarter? All around, I’d have to say Randy.

Who drives? We both do around town. But, on long road trips it’s Randy. He gets car sick, so I drive only if he is very tired and can sleep while I drive.

Who cooks dinner? I do, 99% of the time. However, when Randy does cook, he cooks! He usually makes enough for an army and it’s usually Indian or something else really fancy that uses every dish in the kitchen.

Who eats more? I think he does—or at least he has more to show for it :) , but sometimes I look at his plate and ask "is that all you’re eating?"

Who does the laundry? Me…but I don’t iron.

Who pays the bills? Randy.

Who mows the lawn? What lawn!?

Who can sing better? Randy! Can I say Mormon Youth Chorus!

Who is more sensitive? He’s a pretty sensitive guy…I’d say this would be a tie.

Who is more stubborn? I think me on this one. (I’m a Jordan!)

What is his guilty pleasure? Star Craft

Besides you, who is his best friend? Shane.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Depends on what end you’re looking at. I sleep on the right if you’re looking from the foot of the bed and he does if you’re at the head.

Who has more siblings? Randy. We’ve both got four brothers, but he has two sisters.

What’s your favorite thing about him? He never complains. He never says anything when he has to pull his underwear out of a laundry basket for two days in a row, or when he comes home to a house that looks like a tornado has hit—make that two tornadoes, or when the sink is full of dishes because the dishwasher still has to be unloaded, or when we have tuna fish sandwiches for dinner. He is so patient. I’m so lucky that he’s mine.
Okay birthday girl (Bethany, that's you)...tag, you're it!
